Applying for Medicaid in Alabama is Complex

Every state has its own Medicaid program. Some states make it extremely easy for people to apply for Medicaid, while others seem to go out of their way to make things more difficult. A quick look at the websites for Medicaid in Alabama show that applying for Medicaid in Alabama is complex. Medicaid is a public, or government run, form of health insurance. It is designed to provide health insurance coverage for individuals and families who are low-income and who cannot afford to purchase a health insurance plan from a private insurance company. Medicaid is funded, in part, by the … Continue reading

My Quest to Find Affordable Health Insurance is Finished

I recently got approved for a health insurance policy that I can afford. It has been a long, tiring, frustrating, quest to find coverage after I lost my job that came with employer sponsored health insurance. Here is a quick summary of my journey from uninsured to insured. This all started in 2009. I was working as a paraeducator in a special needs classroom. After working for the school for the required amount of time, I became eligible for their employer sponsored health insurance. I think it was Anthem Blue Cross. It covered both me and my husband. My husband … Continue reading

My Insurance Broker was a Big Help!

I am still searching for affordable health insurance. All my attempts to find it so far have resulted in being accepted for policies that were too expensive. Today, my husband and I met with an insurance broker. She was incredibly helpful! At this moment, I have absolutely no health insurance coverage. I am seeking an individual policy. I don’t happen to have the type of job that offers employer sponsored health insurance, (which would be a group policy). I am also seeking health insurance for myself, only. My husband has health insurance coverage through Medicare. Today, we went to see … Continue reading

Applying for Health Insurance Online – Despite Denial

I applied for health insurance by phone, and was denied due to a pre-existing condition. In order to get proof of the reason why I was denied, I had to apply for the same policy through the insurer’s website. Perhaps that proof will help me to qualify for the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan. The process of applying for health insurance can be tedious and confusing. Earlier today, I spoke with a representative from Celtic Insurance. I wanted to know what the premium for a specific health insurance plan would be. The representative said that she would not know the answer … Continue reading

Applying for Health Insurance by Phone

I am still in the process of trying to find affordable health insurance. Today, I had the time to return the phone call that was left for me by an insurance representative. I ended up applying for the policy right through the phone call. Things did not go exactly as expected. This all started with HealthCare.gov. I used the website to try and find an affordable health insurance policy that would cover only me. My husband has Medicare coverage. The information I was shown led me to an insurer called Celtic Insurance. I called them, but, since it was after … Continue reading

The Insurance Company Called

My husband and I are among the many Americans that are trying to find affordable health insurance. About a week and a half ago, he filled out the application form online. Today, the insurance company called us. Few things are more stressful than an unexpected call from a potential insurer. My husband spent around two hours filling out the online application form for health insurance. It was tedious. It asked what seemed like a million questions about his health, and then asked the same ones about my health. Then it asked me a bunch of questions that relate to women’s … Continue reading

Health Insurers Routinely Deny at Least 20% of Applicants

Are you having trouble getting approved for a health insurance policy? There could be a reason for that. Studies show that health insurance companies deny at least 20% of the people who apply for policies, as a matter of routine. In some areas, the percentage is even higher than that. My husband and I just filled out a lengthy application for health insurance. It took around two hours to fill out. There were tons of questions about whether or not either one of us had any one of a number of diseases, disorders, or conditions. At this time, we are … Continue reading

Applying Online for Health Insurance

My husband and I are trying, once again, to find affordable health insurance coverage. Last night, he spent around two hours filling out a lengthy and detailed application form for both of us. The whole process, from start to finish, was tedious. Hopefully, it will result in health insurance coverage. The last time we made a serious attempt to get health insurance, it was through State Farm. We selected State Farm because it is the company that we have our life insurance policies, and our auto insurance policy, through. Unfortunately, the health insurance premiums offered by State Farm were too … Continue reading

Medicaid in Vermont is Called Green Mountain Care

Every state has a Medicaid program. Some states simply call it Medicaid, while others give it a friendlier name. In Vermont, the Medicaid program is called Green Mountain Care. Clearly, the name of the Medicaid program came from the state of Vermont’s nickname. Medicaid is a public, or government run, form of health insurance. It is designed to provide health insurance for individuals and families who are low income and who cannot afford to purchase a health plan from a private insurance company. Medicaid is funded, in part, by the federal government. It is also funded by the government of … Continue reading
